Luena passed away August 13,2019. At her home with her family by her side. She will be sadly missed by all. Her very special Granddaughter Tessa and Grandson Matt made it possible for her to be cared for at home.
Luena was predeceased by her parents: Lewis and Rena (Patterson)Littlefield of Winterport. All 5 of her siblings, Lewis Jr, Lester, Derrill, Paul, Bernice. Her husband Myron Nason. Her oldest son John Nason.
She leaves behind her children; Karen Bunker, Peter Nason and his wife Sandra, Sally and her husband Frank Flewelling, David Nason and his wife Claudette and Susan Tolman, Daughter-inlaw Donna Nason.
Grandchildren; Traci, Peter, Arron, Darcie, Teresa, Jay, Tessa, Cristy, Matthew, James.
Great-Grandchildren; Jessie, Emily, Lauren, Sara, Nathan, Mackayla, Ashlynn, Kimberly, Alivia, Maliki, Emmett
Great-Great Grandchildren: Jordyn, Chance, Oakley, Riley
Luena Graduated Winterport High School 1941, She went to Portland for Nursing School Graduated as an LPN. She went back to school in her 50’s and received her RN from Eastern Maine General Hospital.
She enjoyed her life as a nurse working many night shifts and weekends and Holidays. She made many wonderful friends at Bangor State Hospital in her 35 years there, Eastern Maine General Hospital, Bangor City Nursing and Gulfside Hospice in Zephyrhills Fl.
Mom spend the last 40 years of her life as a snowbird in Zephyrhills at Florida Estates. She loved her many friends at Florida Estates groups; sewing, bingo, bowling, quilting and golf. The last few years she became the poker queen cleaning up on Thursday nights.
Luena’s first real passion besides her family was golfing. She took this up in her later years in both Maine and Florida she was on lots of teams and clubs. She got a Hole in One at age of 83. She shared many special times golfing with her daughter-in-law Donna Nason.
Quilting over the last few years was another great pastime of Moms. She had made quilts for all of her children, grandchildren and great grand and great great grands. Treasured memories for all. Mom won many Blue ribbons over the years at the Bluehill Fair.
A Graveside Memorial will be held at noon August 23, 2019 at the Maine Veterans Cemetery. A time of remembrance will be held at Frank and Sally’s after the service. Bring a dish to share.
